Ok, well my mom wants me to have my wedding in her yard. Don’t get me wrong her yard is beautiful, but there’s not a pretty background. Like on 3 of the sides theres someones house and on the back side there is a horse pasture (the pasture is pretty, but not the front part by the yard, just the back of it). So I don’t really want it there… unless you have some miraculous idea on how to fix the background problem, lol! Then my fiance’s dad wants us to have it at this one church but I don’t think they will let me have itout side. I’m going to ask them, but I doubt it. I’m really wanting an outside wedding. Any other outdoor suggestions. There’s really not too much here its a small town. There’s not even a wedding coordinater less than 2 hours away. I was going to hire one but like I said there isn’t one close. Anyway, any ideas on the outdoor wedding? Thanks!

You really want an outside wedding. Would the guests fit in your mom’s yard? Wedding venues are so expensive, IMO if you can get a free yard that accommodates your guests, do it! (Provided it doesn’t smell like manure from the horse pasture, but that’s never been a problem at horse pastures I’ve visited.) I think horses in the background would be awesome! You can beautiful the yard with flowers, and other decorations.
Be sure to have a plan B in case of inclement weather!
A park is always a good idea. Even a small family park, there’s usually some pretty backdrops there. The park in my town isn’t huge, but it has a bridge overlooking twin lakes and at night the lakes are lit up with fountains in the middle and changing lights. Something like that would be a good idea. Or if you have a friend or family member that has a big yard out in the countryside. That way there’s not the problem of neighbor’s houses in the pictures.
I was going to have an outdoor wedding, but we opted for a reception hall instead. In any case, if your yard is big enough, consider renting a tent to set up on the property. I’m not sure where you live, but search the web with your county and tent rental as keywords and see what results you get. (I tried http://www.apartypleasing.com for my area, PA) Also, consult wedding planning websites (http://theknot.com for instance) for ideas about receptions. Hope I helped!
Congrats
Type into Yahoo search engine “pictures of outdoor weddings” and take a look at what you can do to make a yard gorgeous.
Even with the decorating it’ll probably be cheaper than renting a church or a ceremony/reception venue…..and it’ll be outside.
The nice things about small towns is that there is usually lots of land to choose from. Local Park, Wild Meadow, also is going out of town out of the question? Beaches are a wonderful idea.
If there is a park with flowers near you that would be good, or maybe if you had enough time you could make the backyard at your moms work.
Get married outside ~ ask the minister if they will do that
Find a park or preserve somewhere but people will have to stand – or you may have to rent the park if you put up tents and chairs
Rent a B&B – have it in their backyard. I rented the Wyre-Pierce House aka The Christopher Inn in Excelsior MN and we got married there and had the reception there too – plus since we rented out the whole B&B all my family and his family got to stay in the quaint rooms and we all had breakfast the next morning ~ it was fabulous. Gorgeous surroundings and flowers everywhere.
