Wedding Question?

I am invited to a good friends’ wedding next month and I am allowed to bring a guest. My husband is in Iraq so he will not be able to attend with me. I won’t know anyone at the ceremony except for the couple who is getting married. I am familiar with some of their family but I do not know them very well at all. The church has limited space and I am a close friend so I am invited to the ceremony, but there will be people I know at the reception. Will it be awkward to go alone to the ceremony, or should I consider bringing a guest along such as my sister? I am not a very outgoing or social person so the wedding could get kinda lonely. Worst of all, I don’t think I could stand getting pity stares from strangers because I am alone. Once I get to the reception, I will know more people, only they are all parts of couples. That may get awkward too. Should I bring someone with me just to keep me company? I have not been to many weddings so I don’t know how this whole thing works.

What Are The Parents Of The Groom Expected Do For The Wedding?

Neither my parents, nor the parents of my fiance have much money. My sister just got married 6 months ago so I know my parents can only do so much. My fiance and I are paying for most things. His parents never mentioned what or if they were doing anything to help. Finally, my fiance asked them what they were planning on and all they said was the rehearsal dinner. They told us they were having it at there house and cooking themselves. That is nice, not my first choice, but I went with it. However, they never asked if it was okay or what we preferred. Trouble is, their home is 1/2 an hour from the church (where we are having rehearsal) and most of the wedding party is already driving 1/2 an hour there from the opposite direction. So some people will be traveling an hour and a half all together. I think it’s too much to ask since we can avoid it. My fiance informs me that his parents are prob just trying to save money. I just don’t find it very fair since it’s the only way they are helping out. What should we do?
FYI: We have been engaged for 5 months and getting married in September.

Wedding Decorations… Just Want Some Opinions Here!?

If you have read any of my other questions, here’s a little update: We finally figured out a way to pay for the wedding. * sigh of relief* So here’s my question- Our wedding date is October 18th. Since its fall wedding, I figured fall would be my theme, sort of. I was thinking for decorations in the church I would do some pretty leaves with small pumpkins, like on the steps near the altar. and I would do a copycat of that for the tables at the reception except I would use fake leaves there, since I want to have candles- gold colored ones, if I can find them, and all that placed on a round mirror. Will that be really hard do you think? ( finding gold colored candles, I mean.) Also, what do you think of my decoration ideas? Oh, and would it still be okay to have the pink and white roses I have always wanted in my bouquet? ooo should I do red and yellow roses instead? agh I am having too much fun with all this ha ha.

Should I Get A Limo For My Wedding Or Not?

I am getting married in acouple of weeks and I am thinking about getting a limo but my finace thinks it’s a waist of money for someone to drive us from the church to the resturant that we are having our family dinner. I would like to hear from you who have gotten married. How did you do the transportation from church to reception? Would you recommend getting a limo? or Should we drive on our own? I just don’t know about driving on our own because I don’t know of I want toget into a little car with my wedding dress : ( . Pleas help with any suggestions.

Can Or Should I Take Communion In A Catholic Church?

I was raised Catholic and had my First Communion. But later in life, I converted to Lutheran because I do not agree with many Catholic Beliefs.
If I’m in a Catholic church, like for a wedding or funeral, and they offer communion, should I participate? I think that ‘technically’ I can, because I had my Catholic First Communion. But, I also think that I shouldn’t, because I am no longer Catholic.
Does anyone the Catholic church’s official view on this? (not just personal opinions)

2 Quick Anglican Church Wedding Questions?

2 Quick questions today about getting married in the Anglican church. I just want to make sure what I want would be reasonable to ask the Reverend.
I want to have our old high schools chamber choir to sing at the service rather then have organ music. I want the precession to be ” She moved through the Faire” ( I’m not sure who has written it but it’s on the Celtic Woman CD.) I also want Ave Maria to be sung somewhere during the service ( it was my favourite piece in Chamber choir) There are a few other chamber songs I like but if possible I would like “Farewell to Nova Scotia” tucked in somewhere because that’s where I was raised.
I know some churches are very strict on types of music being played but this should be a reasonable request right.
as for my second question
Is it possible to just have the bride and groom take communion at a wedding? I’ve been to lots of wedding where everyone is invited to take communion. It can take a long time and sometimes a few guests get embarrassed because they are not part of the church and don’t know what to do. Is this an all or nothing kind of deal? I would like to take communion on my wedding day but I know may guests are not Anglican and to be honest I’m not even sure my Fiance would want to take communion.

Is It Possible To Have A Christian Wedding If The Girl Doesn’t Convert Into Christianity Or Should She Convert

I’m a hindu girl in love with a christian guy.We would like to get married.He wants a complete christian wedding.Altho i don’t mind converting if the need be,It would be nice if i could stick to my faith.So is it possible for me to remain a Hindu and still have a complete christian church wedding? Wedding Help. Court Vs. Church?

So I had been married once before and we had a court wedding. nothing special. went in and out. that was 8 years ago. I am divorced now and am in a serious relationship with another man.
I am 27 years old, will be 28 this year. I have always dreamt of having my dream wedding, dress, church, ceremony all of it. which i wouldnt mind to do with him….
Problem is. Im not close with my family at all. they live in nebraska and I live in Jersey. they are scared of flying and a wedding is not a big deal to them so they wont come if I do get married. he comes from a huge family that all reside in the area and have accepted me so I am grateful to be a part of a family thats close. but now Im just torn… I dont want to have a church wedding and have my side be almost empty, his side full. (
I want to have a wedding still and we were thinking maybe we can just get married in hawaii (his brother lives in hawaii) and come back to the us and legalize it in court.. and celebrate with a huge reception after.
So I am playing the image in my head (although I have always wanted a fairy tale wedding) how can I come close to it given the circumstances…. what would/should i do.
